Intervention Programmes

Corpus Christi offers a range of interventions to support the needs of its pupils. These interventions are over and above the provision provided in class through quality first teaching.

Numbers Count

Numbers Count is a programme that improves children’s mathematical skills.

If your child is in Years 1 – 6 and is working at a level below their classmates, they may be selected for a place on the Numbers Count programme. This means that they will receive intensive 1-to-1 or very small group support from a specially trained Numbers Count teacher.  The teacher will aim to accelerate your child’s learning so that they can work at or above the average level of their class.

At Corpus Christi our trained Numbers Counts teacher is Mrs Feely.

Numbers Count focusses on improving mathematical skills and also helps to develop ways of learning that can be used in all subjects.

EAL - English as an Additional Language

English as an additional language (EAL) refers to learners whose first language is not English or that it might not be the only language spoken at home.

These learners are usually taught out of their own class setting by our EAL teacher Mrs Feely. The learners work on a variety of strategies to help them with their learning in class.

For more information on this please come and speak to Mrs Feely.

SEND & Close the Gap

This group offers additional support for those children who have difficulty with their writing in particular. Mrs O and Ms Ralph are the adults that lead this intervention group.
